On October 2nd, the Wildlife Science Center was treated to a show of athletic and acrobatic feats that were nothing short of spectacular, and an amazing donation, all bundled into one package. Professional Tree Trimmers, organized by Forest Lake’s own “TreePro” Owner/CEO Jim Dufour, convened on the WSC’s property in Linwood with chain saws in hand, to take on t
he mighty oaks in hopes of preventing storm damage to fences housing the WSC’s resident wildlife. What ensued cannot be accurately depicted by photos alone‐WSC staff watched in amazement and perhaps some degree of horror as these folks scaled 50‐70 feet into the air with roaring saws, dropped treetops into wolf enclosures without touching a fence or an animal, and danced among the branches with grace unparalleled. By the time the day was done, WSC received a cool 10K in donated services, and had the gift of peace of mind as “wind season” descended. The talented professionals that helped us that day brought a refreshing blend of humor, camaraderie and a keen sense of safety for one another‐‐something we wildlife types take note of and appreciate!
We could never have come up with the cold hard cash to do what these folks so generously donated. Please consider using “TreePro” in Forest Lake for all of your tree related needs, as a thank you for what was an amazing donation and an even more amazing show!
